What is race equity and what role do cities have in advancing equity?

Join the League of MN Cities for an interactive virtual session focused on race equity. Participants will explore the history of race and the role of local government both historically and today in advancing equity for all residents. Participants will learn about implicit and explicit bias, understand their own experiences of race, and identify ways that cities are eliminating institutional and structural racism.  This session is a conversation, so please come prepared to participate and hold respectful dialogue.

During this session, you will:

  • Gain understanding of the history of race; implicit and explicit bias; and individual, institutional, and structural racism.
  • Explore how different forms of racism impact our lives
  • Learn how to identify implicit and explicit bias.
  • Get motivated to take action.

Oct. 4 – Online via Zoom. Attendees will need a microphone and camera to participate.
