The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is accepting applications from organizations interested in hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps AmeriCorps member for the 2024-2025 program year. Members serve at organizations throughout the state, completing community-focused environmental projects while gaining experience and learning green job skills.
Build organizational capacity, advance environmental projects in your community, and help train the next generation of environmental professionals by hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps member!
The MPCA plans to select up to 58 host site organizations to host a Minnesota GreenCorps member(s). Organizations eligible to host include government entities (local, regional, state, and tribal), school districts, public education institutions, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Members serve full-time from mid-September 2024 to mid-August 2025. Host sites provide day-to-day supervision and support members on community-focused projects in one of the four topic areas:
- community readiness and outreach
- energy conservation and green transportation
- stormwater and forestry
- waste reduction and recycling.
“The Minnesota GreenCorps program is one of the best incubators out there for developing professionals in the environmental field.” While MN GreenCorps members are developing these transferrable skills, they “have been able to provide the city the assistance needed to more effectively develop, implement, and replicate successful projects that are sustainable.” ~ Host site supervisor John Paulson, City of Hutchinson
Operation of the 2024-2025 program year is contingent on receiving AmeriCorps funding; confirmation of funds may not be available prior to the application deadline.
