Organics Management Grants - Due 6/10

As a part of the materials management and solid waste grants funding allocated by the Minnesota Legislature in 2023, the MPCA is now accepting applications for projects that expand or improve the efficiency of organics management operations and work to reduce the amount of organic material being disposed of through landfilling or incineration.

Organics make up about 25% of the municipal waste stream in Minnesota, of this, wasted food makes up 18% and compostable paper and packaging is 6%. Preventing and reducing organics waste represents a significant opportunity to reduce waste and help mitigate climate change.

More information to help applicants submit proposals can be found on the organics management grants webpage. You'll also find details for accessing an online information session being held on Monday, April 22 at 2 p.m. to assist applicants through the grant application process. Applications are due no later than 4 p.m. CT on Monday, June 10, 2024 through the SWIFT Supplier Portal.
