Local Government Housing Programs Update

Minnesota Housing’s Local Government Housing Programs team is new and will administer some of the new programs identified in the 2023 Housing Bill.

The team will support local governments as they develop new affordable rental and single-family housing, provide rental assistance and address lead hazards.

Each program is still being developed, and details are subject to change. More information will be added here as it becomes available.

Minnesota Housing wants your feedback as they start developing the Greater Minnesota Housing Infrastructure Grant Program. The program supports Greater Minnesota municipalities developing new workforce housing.

Program funds can be used for single-family, multifamily, owner-occupied and rental development projects. They can cover up to 50% of public infrastructure capital costs.

Minnesota Housing wants to know how you could use the funding, what grant amounts would be most helpful, what they should consider as they evaluate proposals, and more. Share your thoughts through this survey.
