MnDOT has recently released its next solicitation for Active Transportation Planning Assistance. This planning assistance opportunity will help communities create an active transportation action plan with help from a consultant. The goal is to help more people safely walk and bicycle to destinations where they live, work and play. Active transportation plans will analyze existing conditions, engage the community, identify ways to improve infrastructure, and identify policies and programs to encourage active transportation. This program is available to communities of all types and sizes. Previously selected communities include Mahnomen, Coon Rapids, St. Louis County, Alexandria, and Saint Peter.
New this year: all selected applicants will also receive a supplemental technical assistance project in their community. Communities will be able to choose from six options, including demonstration infrastructure projects.
Applications are due: at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024.
