The Blazing Star is a native prairie plant found in Minnesota that has characteristics that Conservation Minnesota celebrates; it’s hardy, adaptable, and environmentally-friendly. That’s why the Blazing Star Award is given to local governments around the state for exciting projects that advance conservation, climate resilience, environmental protection, or outdoor recreation opportunities. If your community has completed or started any such projects since 2023, please consider applying for the 2025 Blazing Star Award.
Conservation Minnesota is now accepting applications until Noon on Monday, March 3rd. Up to three winners will be selected by a panel of judges to receive the Blazing Star Award plaque and public recognition. We are looking for exciting projects that advance conservation, climate resilience, environmental protection, or outdoor recreation opportunities.
